Hope for Humanity, Inc, formed in 2004, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization of the Internal Revenue Code, headquartered in the State of Virginia, U.S.A. Our organization is dedicated to growing the educational opportunities for South Sudanese youth.
We believe the most effective way to overcome poverty and the near 80% illiteracy rate in South Sudan, both destructive outcomes of war , is to provide people with the ability to build their lives, communities, country, and world through education.
Our mission is to equip South Sudan’s girls and boys for leadership through a quality education with a Christian foundation.
Hope for Humanity, Inc. Executive Director, Suzanne M. Hicks, M.Div. possesses a unique combination of professional experiences in marketing as well as ministry experiences. Her business back- ground, a strong faith, and a desire to live the gospel through mission work are a great fit for Hope for Humanity, Inc.’s mission.
Suzanne holds degrees in history, religion, and patient counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Divinity degree from Union Presbyterian Seminary.

Hope and Resurrection Secondary School Administrator
Hope and Resurrection Secondary School Administrator, Awut Mayom Agok, B.Comm., is a 2011 graduate of Hope and Resurrection Secondary School who returned to Atiaba and the school after graduating from university. She is a highly respected woman in the community and South Sudan. She is the first woman to hold the position of School Administrator in the Lakes State of South Sudan. She is an excellent administrator and role model for South Sudanese women.
Hope and Resurrection Secondary School Principal
Hope and Resurrection Secondary School Headmaster, Anthony Mading Wal is a highly-respected local South Sudanese elder who works with the local chief, the community government and church and civic leaders to insure the school runs smoothly. He has over 32 years of experience in education, helping to write the South Sudanese primary and secondary curriculum and serving as headmaster of the Primary Teacher Training Institute in Wau.
